Fireplace Service and Maintenance Guide

Ash Drawer and Grate

Empty and clean the ash drawer regularly depending on your burning frequency.
Important: Embers within the ash can remain hot for up to 24 hours after burning.
Do not allow ash to accumulate so high that it blocks the airflow openings in the ash grate.
Clean wood ash is also an excellent fertilizer for your garden as it is rich in natural minerals.

Door Glass Care

Your fireplace glass will stay clean longer when you:

  • Use thoroughly seasoned, dry firewood (moisture below 18–20%).
  • Adjust the incoming primary and secondary airflow correctly during combustion.
  • Maintain optimal burning temperature without letting the fire smolder.
  • Ensure adequate chimney draft.
  • Avoid overloading the firebox beyond the manufacturer specifications.

Gradual light sooting of the glass is completely normal during regular use. Clean the inside of the glass periodically using dedicated fireplace glass cleaners to prevent soot particles from baking into the ceramic surface (recommended after approx. 8–12 burning hours).

Cleaning and Inspection Schedule

The fireplace convection openings and air ducts should be cleaned regularly. Always verify that your chimney is clear and drafting properly after extended periods of disuse.
